The Airdrie Health Foundation (AHF) took to social media to showcase new rooms in Airdrie's Urgent Care center, including the electrocardiogram (ECG) room and a code room.

An ECG is a simple test that can be used to check your heart's rhythm and electrical activity. Sensors attached to the skin are used to detect the electrical signals produced by your heart each time it beats.

Just like the previous announcement made about two weeks ago about a second triage room, the AHF has been showcasing the rooms from recent renovations at Airdrie's Urgent Care Center.

"It's part of the renovations that they're (Airdrie Urgent Care) doing, giving particular rooms for treatment and diagnostics of special rooms that they need. It's just one of the things that are going on to make the flow better and health outcomes better for patients," explained Michelle Bates, Executive Director of the Airdrie Health Foundation.

According to the AHF, the code room allows staff to deal with patients (adult and pediatric) with critical illness/injury. Patients receive care within a space that houses all of the equipment and supplies required to assist patients presenting with a variety of illnesses or injuries. This room houses carts and equipment that we received with the assistance of the Airdrie Health Foundation.

With the renovations that are happening, Bates is hoping that patients have the care that they need when they need it and that the test and diagnostic needs that they have can be met at their site.

"It's a small facility for a larger population, so shortly, there'll be more renovations that will add more treatment spaces."

Bates finished off by asking all Airdronians to stay tuned as they plan to showcase one more new specific room and some new equipment they were able to purchase.
