Airdrie's Mackenzie Ebel will join the Princeton Tigers in the NCAA Division 1 this fall.

The 19-year-old forward hopes her toughness in the corners can help bring the Tigers to an NCAA Championship.

"They just won the Ivy League last year, so it's upcoming, and they are doing really well,  it's something I would love to be a part of." said Ebel.

Ebel has spent the past two seasons with at Kent School in Connecticut as captain for the Kent Lions. In 50 games, she racked up 22 goals and 32 assists.

As for the Tigers, Ebel looks forward to winning some battles on the boards with her gritty offensive style.

"Watching one of their practices, they were did a bunch of battle drills and things like that, and that is where I'd like to shine," she said. "I'm excited to be able to partake in that part of the game, and have some contribution out there."

Ebel will head to Princeton University which was founded in 1746, where she plans on taking biology courses to get her pre-med requisites.

"I went and visited, and its better than Hogwarts, it's crazy."
