The Airdrie Female Elite AA Lightning closed out 2017 with a win and a loss on the road.

Last Saturday (December 16th), the team headed to Red Deer to take on the Chiefs, where they fell behind after two periods and needed a comeback.

Thankfully Taylor Seegmiller had the answer as she scored the tying goal on the power play and notched the game winner to give the Lightning a 3-2 victory.

Unfortunately, the winning drive couldn't carry over to the next day as the Lightning lost for just the third time this season, 3-0 to the Calgary Fire-White.

Despite the loss, Cianna Weir stood solid through 60 minutes, making 22 saves.

The Lightning are off for the Christmas season and will play the first league game of 2018 against the Red Deer Chiefs on January 5th.
