The Airdrie Brewers took home the win in their inaugural game Wednesday, May 18th.

With an 8-4 win over the Stettler Storm, the club took the chance to showcase their positional prowess.

"The pitching is good, the fielding and defense was excellent," said General Manager Tim Kehoe. "The only area we are seeing a little concern with that is we gotta get on the bats a little more and that'll come with some more practice and I think were going to be putting a real competitive team on the field."

Mayor Peter Brown threw the evenings opening pitch, but it was Regan McCaffrey who was awarded the win on the mound.

The Brewers will be playing in Central Alberta's Parkland AA Baseball League, where they will also take on teams from Red Deer, Innisfail, and Lacombe.

"The Parkland League is known for quality baseball and we're very excited to become a part of it," says Dan Carefoot, President of The Brewers. "There are some incredible baseball players in Airdrie and we are happy to give the athletes an outlet and the fans a great product."

Featuring a fair amount of depth in the pitching department, coaching staff was able to "show some innings" to 4 different pitchers over the course of the game.

Both teams will be getting a good look at one another's lineup as they play again on June 1st.
