The number of active cases of COVID-19 recorded by the City of Airdrie climbed back over 300 yesterday (December 5) as new cases pushed the total to 304.  

The new cases were among 1,879 in the province as Alberta established a new record for cases for the third time in the past week.  

Airdrie has now had 1,071 cases since the pandemic started.  The good news was that 38 more Airdronians have recovered from COVID-19 for a total of 763.  The deaths from the virus in the city remain at four.

Rocky View County now has 116 active cases, an increase of six from Friday's numbers.  350 people in the county have recovered and one person died previously.

The provincial total of new cases now makes 18,806 Albertans fighting COVID-19.  47,328 people have recovered.  

There were six more deaths in the province for a total of 596.  Albertans being treated in hospital now total 563 with 101 in the ICU.
