The 2017 Alberta Challenge Cup Hockey Tournament won't be one that Airdrie's Jocelyn Pearce forgets anytime soon.

The goaltender, who plays with the Olds Grizzlies in the Alberta Female Hockey League, allowed just one goal in three games in the tourney and led her South Black team to the gold medal.  Pearce backstopped South Black to a 1 - 0 victory over the South White squad in the final.

Pearce stopped 61 of the 62 shots she faced in three tournament games to compile an incredible 0.41 goals against average.  Her outstanding work was recognized when she was named the All Star goaltender of the tournament.  She was also chosen as the Player of the Day on Friday.

The Alberta Challenge Cup was held in Olds from May 3rd - 7th.  Six teams, made up of 20 female players born in 2002 or 2003 who were selected at zone camps held in Fort Saskatchewan and Olds, played in the tournament.

Pearce's teammate with the Grizzlies, Meghan Olsen from Airdrie, was also in the tournament with team South White.  Olsen had a 2.07 goals against average in one game.
