You might think that a 1 and 13 record wouldn't give you much of a foundation to build upon, but Ken Crossley, the Head Coach of the Rocky View Attack Senior Ladies Lacrosse team thinks quite the opposite.

Crossley says the amount the team learned, and how hard they played all season long will stand them in good stead heading into the 2018 campaign in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League.

"Right from the beginning and all the way through to the end of the season we've had team unity and team cohesion. They just melded together as a unit right out of the gate. Near the end of the season we've progressed through a lot of systems that we were intending to have taught by the end of the season and we succeeded in that."

Crossley is excited to have the majority of the team coming back next season.

"We've got pretty much 100 per cent buy in from the team to come back, the group that we have now, and we're looking at expanding our roster hopefully by about five or six players for next year which will make a big difference on the bench."

Crossley says he and the rest of the coaching staff are also committed to the team for next year.

"The coaching staff, Taylor (Crossley) and Clint (Brandon) are both looking to come back.  Hopefully we'll have the same personnel on the bench, we have a few months to go before we get back there but for everything looking forward it looks like it's going to be the same crew."

A young team like the Attack could be disappointed by winning only one game in the season.  Crossley thinks that steady improvement has kept that from being the case.

"They know they've improved, especially in our last five games.  We played against some of the top teams in the league and competed and really hung in the games.  We battled strong and they all got it, they can see the difference in all the things that they've learned in the season.  I think that's super positive and it makes it a lot easier for them to come back next season."
