At city council Tuesday night, Norman McRae, one of the members of the Canadian Army Veterans Motorcycle Units with the Kosovo chapter in Airdrie, presented a proposal that would see a 'Field of Honour' in Airdrie for Remembrance Day. Mayor Peter Brown says the idea was inspired by a Calgary initiative that pays tribute to local soldiers who've lost their lives in combat.

The Canadian Army Veterans Motorcycle Units are behind much of the work on the Calgary display. Airdrie's 'Field of Honour' will be located in a prominent place along Veterans Blvd. a week before Remembrance Day with a cross for each veteran, and will have access for the public to view the temporary 'cemetery' for our city's fallen heroes.
