Airdrie RCMP has released more details on a collision that occurred on Friday evening in Crossfield, involving a 70-year-old individual from Calgary, who has now been charged with several offences, including refusing to provide a breath sample.

According to police, on Friday, June 21, at approximately 6:00 p.m., Airdrie Rural RCMP responded to a report of an impaired driver in the town of Crossfield.

"The report arose from a vehicle having travelled through the Veteran’s Peace Park. There was significant damage to trees within the park caused by the vehicle," police stated.

The 70-year-old has been charged with Failing to Obey a Stop Sign, Careless Driving, Failing to Remain at a collision, and refusing to provide a breath sample.
