The date for the Airdrie Food Bank's 2012 'Empty Bowls Festival' has been announced. Saturday, June 23 from 11 am to 5 pm at Nose Creek Park, you have a chance to be part of this all-important fundraiser.

Executive Director, Lori McRitchie says they're just waiting to confirm a federal grant. She mentions the festival will happen regardless but in the absense of the grant, things will simply look a little different. The federal funds allow them to stage a bigger and better event.

Lori says, with confidence, the grant will come through. They're now putting together a line-up of local entertainment, plus they already have 450 pottery bowls set to be painted. Airdrie's fine restaurants will fill the bowls with soup and you can help raise money for the Food Bank on what's hoped will be a nice sunny day in June.
