Airdrie's new City Council will sit for their first full meeting since October's election tonight (November 6) at City Hall.

This will be the first meeting to being at the new start time of 3:30pm. Council will work through agenda items that don't require public input first, including a quarterly update on the Airdrie and Area Health Benefits Cooperative as well as recommendations for the 2018 Community Investment Funds allocation. Council will also hear correspondence from a number of residents, including a proposal for a parking bylaw, a proposal to ban backyard fire pits, and issues with back alley parking. Council is also being asked to recognize November as Family Violence Month and November 20 as Transgender Day of Remembrance in Airdrie.

Following a recess, the Public Evening Session will take place. Council will hold public question period and then address agenda items requiring decisions or public input such as the results of the Bullying Education and Awareness Initiative. There will also be a public hearing on a land use bylaw amendment for the property known as 309 Main Street North, and then three readings on that bylaw amendment.
