Update:

A 17-year-old youth of the Stoney Nakoda First Nation has been arrested in connection to the homicide of Kori Wesley.

On August 11th, the suspect who was wanted on a warrant in relation to the crime, was arrested in Red Deer by RCMP with the assistance of Police Dog Servies.

The youth, who cannot be named, is currently in police custody and a judicial interim release hearing will be held. The investigation remains ongoing.

20 year old Tylen Tray Poucette was arrested on Sunday, August 7, in relation to the death of the 21 year old male found at the Chiniki Rodeo Grounds. 

Kori Wesley's body was found on Sunday afternoon by Cochrane RCMP, who have been working with both Calgary and Lethbridge Forensic Identification Sections, RCMP Police Dogs, and the K Division Interview Assistance Team in an effort to identify the suspect. 

Poucette, who is from Stoney Nakoda First Nation, was arrested without incident and has been charged with 2nd degree murder.

Being remanded into custody, Poucette will await his first court appearance on August 16, at the Cochrane Provincial Court House.

An arrest warrant has also been issued for a second individual in relation to the incident but in accordance with section 110 (1) of the Youth and Criminal Justice Act, the name of the young person cannot be released.

RCMP said that the individual they are looking for is not believed to be a danger to others.
