Yesterday, Airdrie's City Council met for the bi-weekly meeting to discuss and present reports and ideas.

 Calgary Reads presented their goal of spreading and promoting literacy. They are currently operating in five Airdrie schools where they help promote reading to students. Recent studies have found that 49% of adult Canadians have low literacy levels and Calgary Reads is currently battling this.

The 2019 Citizen Satisfaction Survey results were presented. 94% of Airdronians that took the survey said their quality of life was good or very good. As well, most Airdronians have been residing in Airdrie from 1 to 5 years and 77% would recommend Airdrie as a home.

The Nose Creek Bridge to the Elevators has been officially designated as a Municipal Historic Resource and will be protected as such, making it Airdrie's second.

Airdrie will be receiving a public art sculpture from the Alberta University of the Arts.

Various community services in Airdrie will be seeing fee changes due to expansion. Genesis Place, the Town & Country Centre, various arenas and public transit will all be seeing changes in 2019.
