Airdrie drivers cautioned as freezing rain possible Friday morning
Drivers are being advised to use caution on Friday morning, as Environment and Climate Change Canada’s latest forecast calls for a risk of freezing rain in the Airdrie area. The agency’s 4 p.m. Thursday update says skies will be cloudy Friday with a 40 per cent chance of flurries and a high of 3 C. Winds will reach up to 15 kilometres an hour. Temperatures are expected to dip to -5 °C overnight with a wind chill of -8 °C, which could create slick conditions for the morning commute. The weather is expected to improve through the weekend, with sunshine and a high of 8°C on Saturday, rising to 17°C by Sunday.
