New Airdrie City Council sworn in for 2025–2029 term
The swearing-in of the new 2025–2029 Airdrie City Council took place Oct. 24 at Airdrie City Hall. Mayor Heather Spearman and councillors Ron Chapman, Candice Kolson, Chris Glass, Kristen Shima, Simisola Obasan and Chad Stewart were sworn in. “The results for Mayor and City Council are now official. The results for Rocky View Schools Trustee remain unofficial at this time,” the City stated in its Oct. 24 update earlier in the day. By Friday evening, the city noted that the trustee results had become official. Mayor (official): Heather Spearman – 5,291 votes Tina Petrow – 4,331 Dave Douglass – 1,170 Vern Raincock – 582 Dylan Harty – 416 Eeshnah Qureshi – 194 Usman Mahmood – 106 City Council (official): Ron Chapman – 5,834 votes Candice Kolson – 5,592 Chris Glass – 4,712 Kristen Shima – 4,325 Simisola Obasan – 4,093 Chad Stewart – 3,982 Councillors Chapman and Kolson are the only incumbents re-elected.
