A virtual election forum is being hosted next Wednesday (May 24) at 1 p.m. by the Cochrane and District Chamber of Commerce.

All five candidates have been contacted and electors are invited to participate remotely.

Chamber executive director Kelly Carson says they believe it's important for electors to have a chance to hear from all the candidates.

"We decided to go low budget, but in the same token, it still gives options for people to listen to candidates and they can submit questions," explains Chamber executive director Kelly Carson.

Each candidate will be given five minutes to present their platform uninterrupted, then questions will be accepted. If it's directed at all candidates, each will be given a chance to respond, also uninterrupted.

To access the debate, visit the chamber website and click the Zoom link.

"They don't have to register or anything like that. They can just click on the link on Wednesday at 1 p.m. and join in.

Seeking the Airdrie-Cochrane seat in the Legislative Assembly are incumbent Peter Guthrie, UCP; Michael Andrusco, Solidarity Movement of Alberta; Shaun Fluker, Alberta NDP; Michelle Overwater Giles, Green Party of Alberta; and Ron Voss, Wildrose Loyalty Coalition.
