Earlier this week, firefighters held a prescribed burn in the Banff area that quickly got out of control.

A sudden change in the speed and direction of the wind spread the flames quickly, and TikTok user Rope-A-Dope YYC was caught driving through the wildfire.

Helicopters and fire crews worked into the evening to contain the fire and it is estimated that about 3 hectares were burned outside of the unit boundary.
