According to a statement from the Village of Beiseker, a tire slashing in the village has led town officials to believe it was meant as 'a personal, targeted attack on both the employee and their family.'

According to Beiseker town officials, at approximately 2 a.m. on Saturday, September 17, the tires of a village employee’s personal vehicle were slashed and attempts to slash the tires of other vehicles belonging to the family members of this person were made.

"Video footage confirms this crime, and a report has been filed with the local RCMP," the statement read.

While the RCMP has confirmed that they do have a file regarding mischief to a vehicle (tires slashed), they underlined that there is no mention of other vehicles being involved at all.

The town's statement underlined that it is unclear whether the attack was due to a vendetta against the alleged victim in question or because of their employment responsibilities with the village, it is nonetheless being called reprehensible.

"It is extremely disheartening that anyone would cause this kind of damage to any other person. Common sense, communication and respect for others’ personal safety and privacy are keystones to keeping our village safe. This act has resulted not only in damage to the property of one of our citizens but has caused a violation of personal safety and well-being."

Anyone who may have any information regarding this crime including witness information or video footage is asked to contact the RCMP at 403 947-3420 or to call Crime Stoppers at 403 262-8477.
