At the G20 summit in Argentina, the Prime Minister made a comment about how male construction workers are making 'social impacts' in rural areas.

“What does a gender lens have to do with building this new highway or this new pipeline?” Well, there are impacts when you bring construction workers into a rural area — there are social impacts because they are mostly male construction workers. How are you adjusting or adapting to those [impacts]?"

This comment has been widely discussed, and upsetting many Albertans who are directly tied to the oil field. A Grande Prairie woman's thoughts on this has gone viral, saying it is these construction workers who allow her to keep her job and provide for her family by bringing in business.
