Michael Roebuck plead to second-degree murder on November 1st at the Court of Queen's Bench in Calgary, during the first day of his scheduled trial. 
 
 
Roebuck was facing a first-degree murder charge, as well as a lesser charge of second-degree murder in the shooting death of Daniel MacDonald in September 2019. The sentencing hearing will be held on Thursday, November 4th.
 
 
On September 7th, 2019 at around 5:00 pm, police responded to the neighbourhood in response to shots fired.  MacDonald was pronounced dead at the scene.  

 

The two men were said to be neighbours who knew each other. MacDonald was 57 at the time of his death.
