In their continuing effort to improve winter roads maintenance, at an October 11 general meeting, Rocky View Council unanimously approved a policy that will ensure that county roads in the process of being upgraded by a developer receive the same attention when it comes to snow and ice clearing as adjacent county roads.

Byron Riemann, Infrastructure and Operations Director for Rocky View County, explains.

Councillors heard at the meeting that this policy was not intended to apply to internal subdivision roads, but surrounding grid roads. Exceptions would be made where snow and ice on internal roads was creating a hazard or danger to the public.
