Rocky View Schools has followed suit behind the City of Airdrie, the Town of Crossfield, and Rocky View County and has reopened playgrounds.

The play structures were taped off two months ago in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Playgrounds were permitted to reopen as part of Stage One of the province's relaunch strategy, which started on May 14. However, many did not open right away as some municipalities, including Airdrie, decided on the best way to reopen them safely.

The City of Airdrie and the Town of Crossfield reopened playgrounds this past weekend and now RVS has announced that school playgrounds have reopened to the public.

RVS notes that park amenities and equipment will not be sanitized and reminds users to practice physical distancing, adhere to public gathering restrictions of no more than 50 people, as well as frequent hand washing and staying home if sick.
