In December, Rocky View Schools released their annual report and the school division's performance remains high.

According to the 2014-2015 Annual Education Results Report, Rocky View Schools remain near or even above the provincial average in various areas.

The school division continues to have a low drop out rate of 2.4 per cent (provincial average is 3.4 per cent) and a high completion rate of 80.9 per cent compared to the provincial average of 76.4 per cent.

Student performance also continues to increase with 60.4 per cent of students earning a grade of 75 per cent or higher in at least five courses.

Along with that, for the most part, diploma exams results continue to meet or exceed provincial standards with the exceptions being English 30-1 and French Language Arts 30.

Rocky View Schools also continues to maintain high satisfaction ratings amongst students, parents and staff.

The student satisfaction survey results have continued on a steady incline since 2010 with the satisfaction in the majority of areas increasing.

Results that decreased included accessibility of information regarding post-secondary education, planning for the future and the ability and opportunities for students to make decisions that affect student life.

Parents also demonstrated high satisfaction ratings with 21 out of 32 survey areas nearing or surpassing 90 per cent.

Staff satisfaction is consistently high with very little variance each year however, the surveys showed that areas of low satisfaction include access to adequate support services for students and catering to the needs of different learners including students with special needs.

In the current school year, Rocky View Schools are working to modify learning to accommodate individual learning styles, increase self motivation and innovation of students, create instruction that is both challenging and engaging, and incorporating digital technologies into learning.
