The Airdrie Quilter's Guild is stitching up a special commemorative quilt as part of this year's ARTember celebrations. Members of the Guild are creating a quilt that incorporates archival photos.  The Nose Creek Valley Museum provided original photos of our City that guild members have scanned and printed onto fabric.

Prairie Quilt Mercantile donated the fabric needed to complete this wall hanging sized quilt - appropriately called Airdrie by the designer. The design includes interlocking rings around a central block that the guild will be filling with these scanned archival images.

The guild and their sewing machines are working away in the main floor dance studio at Genesis Place from 11 am to 4 pm for the three days of Alberta Arts Days - September 30, October 1 and 2.  The public is encouraged to pop in to see the groups' progress and get an idea of what goes into making one of these works of art.
