Just before 6 o'clock this morning, Airdrie RCMP  went to a vehicle fire on Range Road 274 and Township Road 260. Fire crews from Chestermere and Balzac were able to put out the fire, but the 1999 Ford Mustang covertible was destroyed. No one was in the car at the time and there were no injuries. The vehicle had been parked at a local mechanical shop in Linden and stolen from there overnight.

Police continue to investigate.
