The B.C. government is holding off on allowing unnecessary travel to the province.

Premier John Horgan is asking those who don't have business in B.C. to avoid visiting.

"Our advice to other Canadians is we're going to welcome you down the road but not today. If you don't have business in British Columbia, it is our preference that you stay where you are."

The earliest they're inviting non-essential travel to the province is July 1, which should be Step three of B.C's reopening plan, with Step four expected Sept. 7.
