The City of Airdrie will be looking into the possibility of re-instating Airdrie's integrated emergency service. Mayor Peter Brown announced his desire to see its return at Monday night's council meeting.

Airdrie developed a stand-alone fire department after Alberta Health Services took control of the City's ambulance response last year. When City Council learned that AHS response times weren't as quick as they were under the integrated service, Council made the decision to train Airdrie's fire fighters to act as first responders.
