Correctional Service of Canada has put a lock down on the medium security unit at Bowden Institution.

The lockdown was issued around 8 pm, Saturday, March 5th, after some inmates showed signs of A/H1N1.

Visits have since been suspended while the Correctional Service of Canada and health authorities look to resolve the situation as soon as possible.

Correctional Service of Canada says the security and safety of the institution is their primary concern.

The institution says the lockdown will end and regular operations will commence once it is safe to do so.
