RCMP detachments from Beiseker, Drumheller and the Airdrie based Southern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit made two arrests and seized drugs after executing a search warrant in Linden yesterday (June 27).  

According to Corporal Jon Cormier, the search warrant was executed at a residence in the small town and police located an assortment of drugs.  "Quite a bit of drugs were found inside the residence," explains Cormier.  "We're talking about cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamines, and GHB and these drugs are very dangerous to anybody using them."

The RCMP seizure included 35.8 grams of cocaine, 49 grams of fentanyl, 14.2 grams of methamphetamine and 420 ml of GHB.

"The two people arrested in relation to that search warrant and the investigation are Mandy Lynne Russell and Jason Michael Lock from Linden," Cormier says.

37-year-old Russell and 40-year-old Lock have each been charged with the following:

  • Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking·
  • Possession of GHB for the purpose of trafficking

Both were released on a recognizance and will appear later this month in Drumheller Provincial Court.
