In one of Airdrie-Banff Member of Parliament’s (MP) latest Facebook posts, he asks what happened to freedom.

Blake Richards stated in the online post that the Liberal Government has “gone too far and no longer deserves to be trusted.”

“We've seen far too many examples of this government trampling charter rights for them to be trusted. We've seen how, under this Prime Minister, the government tested facial recognition technology on millions of travelers at Toronto's Pearson International Airport without their knowledge, or their consent. Well, Mr. Speaker, what happened to freedom?”

Richards went on to talk about how the government has been collecting cell phone data.

“We've seen how the government has been collecting cell phone data since the beginning of the pandemic without Canadians consent.”

The Freedom Convoy was also brought up by Richards.

“We've seen how during a largely peaceful protest in downtown Ottawa, this government invoked the Emergency Act to use unjustified and extraordinary powers against its own citizens.”

Richards finished off by saying the government has discriminated against people based on their personal medical choices and to barre them from air travel despite a complete lack of scientific evidence.

In Richards most recent report, on a different note, he says he is happy to see Canada Day, which had been put on hold across the country over the past 3 years, back in action.

“The parades, the pancake breakfasts, the gatherings, they’ve all returned in one form or another without Zoom calls or distancing. We have proven that our country is a resilient bunch of fighters, ready to take back what was ours.”
