Starting the morning of April 18, Veterans Blvd. will be experiencing some lane closures that will last 1-2 weeks.

These closures will be taking place between Reunion Gateway and Williamstown Blvd. to make way for a new median that will allow emergency vehicles easier access onto Veterans Blvd. from the new fire station.

Mayor Peter Brown is encouraging people to take alternative routes for the time being.

"Hopefully it won't be too much of an inconvenience to our residents but it is something that needs to be done."

The new fire hall will be opening within the next few months and the new median will allow emergency crews to get in and out of the new fire hall as quickly as possible.

The inside lanes on both Eastbound and Westbound will be closed during the construction period, which may cause some delays for commuters.
