June is Recreation and Parks month, as proclaimed by Rocky View County Council earlier this month. It's your cue to let your imagination and your sense of adventure soar while you enjoy the fresh air and unobstructed views that make Rocky View County a special setting.

The County’s indoor and outdoor recreational opportunities are limitless. If you've ever considered taking a hike, going cycling, birding or even canoeing, residents can participate in all of these activities and more where they live. Connect with nature and stay active by visiting the provincial parks, recreational areas and natural areas supported by kilometres of natural trails and paved pathways – ideal for your next outdoor adventure.

To encourage recreation, leisure and cultural participation, Council has appointed ten volunteer recreation boards and their 75-plus volunteers to support more than 100 facilities and programs within the County, ranging from small community halls, 4H groups and minor sports, to large multi-purpose facilities. Council provides support to facilities and programs in neighbouring municipalities to ensure all residents have equal access to a variety of programs and services.
