While it's starting to get warmer outside, we start to think of cold ice cream, popsicles, and meat on the grill. Our freezers get quite the workout at this time of year. Unfortunate, the freezer can also be a dark place, a place of long lost items and forgotten meals. They get buried in the back by all the new and fresh groceries that we bring home. Sometimes things get forgotten for weeks. Maybe even years.

I opened the station freezer today and found just such a sight. A frosty that has now been frozen so long it could never be unfrozen, loaves of bread long forgotten and frozen over, some good-intentioned freezer meals that never got to see the light of day and even some grilling meat that was drooled over then left to get freezer burn.

It happens to everyone's freezer at some point. But after reading the dates on some of our freezer items I had to do some research, I looked at every package and eventually stumbled upon the oldest item in that freezer. It was a package of hot dogs from may of 2017!

So now I want to know, what is the oldest thing in your freezer? Come on Airdrie, it's time to fess up about that long-forgotten meal that takes up space in the back in the dark and cold, just waiting to be consumed or thrown out!
