The 2021 Calgary Stampede wraps up this weekend, but not without a few more performances from the Young Canadians.

This year's group of performers includes Airdrie's Alessandra Belloto, a senior dancer who has been with them for the past three years.

The Young Canadians are a staple on the Grandstand Stage every night during the Stampede but 2021 has been different than previous years.

"In terms of the Grandstand Show, we did have to split up the company because of COVID protocols so we don't get to see each other as much this year," said Belloto. "A lot of our rehearsals were over Zoom so it made it more difficult to see each other."

Organizers of the Calgary Stampede implemented many changes for this year's event including limiting capacity, enhanced cleaning measures, and physical distancing rules.

Last year's Stampede was canceled for the first time in its over 100 year history due to concerns with COVID-19.
