At 7:56 A.M. this morning, the Airdrie Fire Department responded to a townhouse fire at Cooper's Crossing. 

According to the city, the fire started on the main floor of a four-unit townhouse of one unit. 

"The homeowner was away when the fire broke out but used information obtained from a security camera to update 911 about the alarm," stated a press release by the city. "The quick work of fire crews ensured the fire was contained to the main floor of the primary unit, with minimal damage to adjacent units."

Four nearby residents were evacuated temporarily as a precaution and an investigation will be conducted by the Fire Prevention Bureau.

A total of three apparatus and 12 firefighters were utilized during the call. One firefighter sustained a minor ankle injury. No other injuries were reported.
