After several hours of being shut down due to a fire, the city's transfer was re-opened at 4:25 p.m.

Earlier, on Monday, The City of Airdrie alerted residents on social media that the transfer site, west of Airdrie, was closed due to a fire as fire crews were on the scene.

No further details were provided as to the cause or origin of the blaze.
