An annual event designed for residents of all ages will be taking place in September to raise money for the Airdrie Food Bank.

The 10th Annual Empty Bowls Arts Festival is happening on Saturday, September 10, and will have multiple activities such as a free soup lunch, local music, children's activities, a pottery demonstration and a pottery bowl sale with all proceeds going to the Airdrie Food Bank.

This event is currently looking for sponsors with opportunities ranging from sponsoring live music, children's activities such as magician, face painting, balloon artist, tent rentals and many other different categories.

Another interesting way to participate in the event almost one month beforehand is to make a custom glass fused plate at Muk-Luk Magpies Stained Glass Emporium on Friday, August 12.

If you'd be interested in making a glass fused plate, contact Quinn Donaldson, general manager of the Airdrie Food Bank, at 403-948-0063.
