After cancelling their first meeting in February because of a lack of things to discuss, Airdrie City Council is facing a rather full agenda later today (February 18).

Council  is getting the rare opportunity of having both MLAs who represent the city in Edmonton appear before council today.  Airdrie East's Angela Pitt and Airdrie-Cochrane representative Peter Guthrie will appear before council for an update.  Pitt and Guthrie will explain to council what measures the government has taken to date to advance Alberta's economy as well as what has been done to support residents of Airdrie.

Other items to be covered in today's meeting, Lynn McKenzie, Team Leader for Municipal Enforcement will provide council with information on Automated Traffic Enforcement, including photo radar equipment and intersection safety devices. McKenzie will also provide council with information on how Municipal Enforcement manages complaints about cats in the city.

Two presentations regarding water will be heard by council members.  They'll be asked to support the Nose Creek Watershed Partnership  Hydrologic/Hydraulic and Water Quality Model Project which is a requirement to apply for the Alberta Community Partnership Intermunicipal Collaboration Grant.

Council will also be provided information regarding the Alberta Environment and Parks lead compliance testing, which is being used for an assessment of the entire provincial water system.

A number of other items are on the agenda for today's meeting which begins at 3:30 pm in Council Chambers at Airdrie City Hall.  As always, the meeting is open to the public.
