If you have a few lottery tickets stashed in your wallet or pocket, you may want to check them as there's a little over a week before your time to claim a huge prize expires.

According to the Western Canada Lottery Corporation (WCLC), a LOTTO 6/49 Gold Ball Draw ticket bought on March 8, 2023, somewhere in the province - outside the major metro centres of Calgary and Edmonton, is still unclaimed. That lottery ticket's numbers drawn were: 29731883-01, that ticket is worth a cool one million dollars.

"DAILY GRAND, LOTTO MAX, LOTTO 6/49, WESTERN 649, WESTERN MAX, POKER LOTTO, EXTRA, KENO and PICK tickets expire one year from the draw date," WCLC states on their website.

There's also another EXTRA lottery ticket, which expires March 29, worth $100,000, which is also unclaimed, and was also won outside Calgary and Edmonton.

Other unclaimed lottery prizes that were drawn outside of Calgary and Edmonton that are expiring in the coming months include:

  • LOTTO 6/49 Gold Ball Draw, expiring July 22, worth $1,000,000, with the drawn numbers: 35610918-01

  • LOTTO 6/49, expiring August 2, worth $34,155.70, numbers drawn: 4,7,9,25,34,48,42

  • EXTRA, expiring August 15, worth $100,000, numbers drawn: 5088762

  • EXTRA, expiring October 24, worth $100,000, numbers drawn: 5062056

Last month, Okotoks resident, Leonard Visser, struck gold when he checked his old lottery tickets from August and ended up with a $100,000 cash windfall.

"I didn’t believe it!” he laughed. "It feels surreal."
