This week I had the chance to take part in the 2024 Rural Women in Business Conference, and it was a HUGE success!!

It was held at the Crossfield & District Community Hall and hosted by the Airdrie and Crossfield Chambers of Commerce.

I spoke with Airdrie Chambers Executive Director Marilyne Aalhus about what we can do to support women in business.

“We as a Chamber are obviously your voice of business. So, if you're not a member of your local chamber. We encourage you to do so.”

Over 100 women from dozens of businesses in Airdrie and Crossfield took part in a day of learning, networking and personal development, taking in workshops from a wide range of female entrepreneurs.

The women who took part got to learn about everything from how to organize your life for maximum efficiency, to how to grow your social media presence as a small business. Then participants were treated to a panel discussion about the unique challenges women face in business, as well as a keynote presentation from speaker, strategist and self-proclaimed hype woman, Amanda Wagner.

Air 106 and discoverairdrie.com wants to thank the Airdrie and Crossfield Chambers of Commerce for inviting us to take part in this amazing event.

I'll be here there and everywhere all summer long! If you have an event, you'd like us to attend submit your request to the email address below.
