Premier Jason Kenney recently announced the Open For Summer Lottery, which gives vaccinated Albertans a chance to win one million dollars. 

There are three separate draws for a million dollars throughout the summer. There will be a draw for Albertans with their first dose as early as July, another draw in August for second dosed Albertans, and then a final draw in September; also for second dosed Albertans.

The first one million dollar draw will close one week after 70% of Albertans have at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. The 70% first dose vaccination threshold is also the major milestone for lifting virtually all public health orders across Alberta. To date, approximately

As for the updated Alberta COVID-19 numbers, both active cases and hospitalizations continue to drop.

There are now 3,089 active cases of COVID-19 in the province.

Currently, 270 Albertans are in the hospital due to COVID-19 and 73 are in intensive care.

The City of Airdrie has 45 active cases.

In Rocky View County there are 19 active cases.
