According to Nataliya Posudevska, an Airdrie pharmacist who works at Airdrie's The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy, who had been collecting items and cash donations for humanitarian aid to send to Ukraine, the community donated half a ton (500 kilograms) of clothing items, as well as $3000 in cash donations.

Posudevska said that the items have already been boxed up and are being to western Ukraine, where the items will be further dispersed, while the money will be e-transferred.

The Airdrie Christian Academy also participated in the clothing and donation drive, while the Northcott Prairie School donated blue and yellow ribbons. She also mentioned that several children came in and donated their pocket money to the cause as well. Posudevska said various local businesses also participated. t

The pharmacy has now concluded its donation drive, but was astounded at the outpouring of support from the community.

According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, there are now 2.3 million Ukrainians who have fled since the start of the Russian invasion.
