Four Airdire born hockey players are enjoying their time in the Western Hockey League (WHL).

Josh Davies, Keagan Slaney, Noah Degenstein, and Wyatt Pisarczyk are all growing as athletes with their respective clubs.

Davies is having a stellar season with the Portland Winterhawks, in 38 games, Davies has 54 points, 30 goals and 24 assists. Previously, Davies spent his whole junior career playing with the Swift Current Broncos. Throughout four seasons, he accrued 79 points in 149 games.

Just recently, Davies signed an entry-level contract with the team that drafted him back in 2022 with the 186th pick in the NHL draft, the Florida Panthers. The Winterhawks' next game is against the Tri-City Americans on Friday.

Chosen by the Calgary Hitmen with the 29th overall pick in the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft. Wyatt Pisarczyk has appeared in 35 games in his rookie year, he has 10 assists and two goals in the regular season for 12 points.

From 2019 until 2022, Pisarczyk was a member of the U15 AAA Airdrie Xtreme. In 75 games, he scored 21 goals and provided 49 assists. Pisarczyk played in 21 games during his one season with the U18 AAA Airdrie CFR Bison, tallying five goals and eleven assists. He played for a while with the AJHL Drayton Valley Thunder after his tenure with the Bison ended. The next game on the schedule for the Hitmen is against the Brandon Wheat Kings on Friday.

Keagan Slaney is a junior hockey player who is now with the Regina Pats. He has played in 38 games this year and has two goals and three assists for five points. Slaney has spent his previous seasons playing for the Edmonton Oil Kings and Calgary Hitmen. In 175 career games, Slaney has a total of 34 points, 10 goals and 24 assists. The Regina Pats next game is Friday night against the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

With the Moose Jaw Warriors, Noah Degenstein is currently a rookie. In the second round of the 2022 WHL Prospect Draft, Degenstein was selected by the Warriors with the 36th overall pick. In 26 games this season, he has three assists. 

Degenstein played prep U15 and U16 teams at Edge School growing up. He was a member of the Airdrie CFR Bisons U18 AAA team last season. He finished with eight goals and eleven assists for a total of 19 points in 36 games. Moose Jaw plays Friday against the Medicine Hat Tigers.
