The first Airdrie Faith Build Day took place Saturday after nearly four years of planning.

Habitat for Humanity was on-site along with numerous caring volunteers working together to build a semi-detached home for two hard-working single mothers and their families.

The homes were started in October and are expected to be completed this spring with the help of volunteers and the soon-to-be-home owners themselves.

What better way to learn about everything a house requires than to actually build it yourself?

Organizer Linda Ray says that while housing families in need is important, ensuring that they will prosper in their new home shouldn't be overlooked.

The construction site is located in Bayside at 2369 Baywater Crescent.
