Airdrie Council has cemented its Procedure Bylaw for the conduct and operations of its bi-weekly meetings.

Tuesday, Council gave all three readings to the bylaw which outlines the structure and orderly proceedings of their meetings in Council Chambers.

One of main highlights in the bylaw is that public question period is now limited to five minutes long per person and thirty minutes as an agenda item. Despite the time limit, a resident may ask any amount of questions or opinions they would like to share with Council.

The bylaw was sparked back in October when Council recommended that staff formalize a policy to help bring more order and flow to their meetings.

All of Council approved all three readings to the bylaw except for Alderman Allan Hunter who was opposed.
