All of the hampers for the Airdrie 1st Club Hamper Program were handed out this past Sunday to Airdronians in need.

Once again this year, they were able to help struggling families during the holiday season with some must-need holiday items.

This year was a special one as they handed out 362 hampers. Slightly lower than last year's total. The club was preparing to hand out anywhere from 400-450 hampers.

This year, Towerlane Centre donated a space (Where the Spirit of Halloween was) where Airdronians could have dropped off donations.

"It was a very successful donation program. All the members worked very very hard and we are so thankful for the generosity of Airdrie," stated Jo-El Buerlen, the President of Airdrie 1st Club.

This year, the Airdrie Dad's group helped the club move all the hampers from their donation center to their distribution center where the Airdronians that were getting a hamper were able to just drive on through.

"The gratitude that pours out from the recipients fills our hearts. the love and appreciation were overwhelming. We shared a lot of tears on Sunday when we were distributing."

This year's hampers included multiple different items, some of which are toys and gift cards. Some food items include milk, bread, butter, carrots, potatoes, and possibly some baked goods.

Buerlen stated they would for sure be back next.

In 2022, the Airdrie 1st hamper program distributed 370 hampers. This year, they are preparing to hand out 400-450 hampers.
