Two 17-year-olds were arrested late last week following a police pursuit from Didsbury.

Didsbury RCMP originally tried to stop male and female youth who were driving a stolen truck last Thursday night (March 15th) but the fair evaded police.

RCMP pursued the truck to Innisfail where the suspects fled on foot.

With the help of RCMP from Olds, Innisfail and Red Deer, they eventually found and arrested the youth.

A 17-year-old male now faces nine charges.

  • Assault on a police officer with a weapon

  • flight from police

  • dangerous driving

  • mischief

  • resist arrest

  • possession of stolen property over $5000

  • fail to comply with a recognizance

  • fail to comply with a probation order x2

The 17-year-old female is facing five charges.

  • possession of a weapon dangerous to the public

  • possession of break-in tools

  • possession of a prohibited weapon

  • possession of Methamphetamine

  • possession of Cocaine

Due to the age of the suspects, their names are not being released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
