Alberta's main opposition party is ready to again put the Government's feet to the fire.

Didsbury's MLA and Wildrose House leader Nathan Cooper made an announcement before the Throne Speech and says one of the big issues they want to address this session is crime in rural Alberta.

"We've seen significant in crimes in those areas and I think we would be well served to take action on those."

The announcement drew confusion for those who attended the announcement wondering if Albertans were indeed feeling unsafe. Cooper says he's heard some stories from his riding.

"Perfect example is in the community of Carstairs...all three major banks have had their ATM's stolen. While that may not be a violent crime directly to an individual in a constituency, those have a negative impact on those communities."

Cooper also said the party will be introducing at least three bills to the government and continuing to keep the Government accountable for their decisions.
