Gas took a large jump this past week when pump prices rose from 89.9 cents per litre up to 105.9 on Wednesday, March 29.

GasBuddy Senior Petroleum Analyst, Dan McTeague said the pump prices were caused by a couple different factors.

"Longer than usual refinery maintenance plagued motorists last week, yielding a surprising increase of an average of 5 cents a litre. The transition from winter to more expensive summer grade gasoline begins in earnest later in the week, thus compounding the effect of higher prices at the pumps."

The price of gas has gone down to 101.9 c/L, as of Monday, April 3, but McTeague warns that it could go up another 3 cents before the end of the week.
