On Wednesday night (July 12) at 7:28 pm, Environment Canada issued a Tornado warning for Airdrie, Cochrane, Sundre and Olds.

Within 15 minutes the warning was downgraded to a Tornado Watch. A Severe Thunderstorm warning stayed in effect with a risk of toonie to golf ball sized hail.

As the winds shifted, the risk of any storm or Tornado hitting the area was no longer present so Environment Canada removed all weather warnings for the area just before 9 pm.
